Mr. Meiman gives detailed information about his job at the Consolidated Telephone Company that operated in Boone County, KY between 1954 to 1969 when it was bought by Cincinnati Bell. He describes the daily operations , phone styles and other equipment, “rubbering”, and the switch from manual phones to dial phones. He also explains the impact of the Rural Electrification Administration on the telephone industry.
