If there's one thing Probst is going to do, it's convince readers that Italy is where they'll find themselves, as she did in Our Italian Summer (2021) and The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti (2022). In her latest, Maddie, a fashion influencer, heads to the Italian countryside holding on to the wreckage of her career while figuring out if a former friendship is still salvageable. Probst's third "Meet Me in Italy" novel (following The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti) is a wonderful family-life story about three friends and one youthful choice that changed everything between them. Readers follow best friends Ava, Chelsea, and Madison from college graduation to adulthood. Long ago, they promised to attend each other's weddings, but then their bond was broken, sparked by events during a trip to Lake Como. Now Madison is a fashion influencer, Chelsea has sidelined her career for the perfect family she always wanted, and Ava is marrying the man she loves. Her dream wedding in Lake Como seems like the perfect opportunity for the friends to reunite and relive their life-changing Italian trip of years ago. Each woman faces big changes and questions, but they come to realize that they're not alone in their thoughts and feelings; instead, they're each part of a chosen family of sisters who need each other. VERDICT This book comes with discussion questions and is great for those who enjoyed Jodi Picoult novels or Ann Brashares's "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series.
